Coastal REALTORS® attends national conference in San Diego

San Diego, Calif. – Representatives from the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) recently traveled to San Diego, California to participate in the annual National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2015 Conference & Expo.
 
CAR President Linda Moran, Incoming President Don Bailey and Executive Vice President Page Browning represented the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland at the national conference. Over 20,000 real estate professionals from across the country attended the three-day event, which offers information sessions and professional development workshops to gain education and insights into residential and commercial real estate markets, home buying and selling trends, commercial market growth, economic forecasts, and public policy and regulatory concerns.

CAR members sing Christmas carols at local nursing homes
December 18, 2015
Lower Eastern Shore, Md. - REALTORS®, mortgage lenders and their families spread holiday cheer to area nursing homes during the 2015 Coastal Association of REALTORS® Caroling Crawl on December 15.
 
CAR traveled to four local facilities – Salisbury Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke City, Gull Creek Senior Living Community in Berlin, and Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
 
The carolers distributed song books and invited residents to sing along to classics like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Let it Snow” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” among others.

Local REALTORS® collect over 100 toys, raise $1,000 at holiday party

Ocean City, Md. – During its 2015 Holiday Party at Seacrets, the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) collected over 100 toys for the Toys For Tots Foundation and raised $1,000 for Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

Lower Shore heads into holiday season with increased contracts

Berlin, Md. – Pending sales on the Lower Eastern Shore saw a significant increase in November, according to the latest figures from the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR).
 
CAR’s local housing statistics for November 2015 showed an overall 20.4 percent increase in pending sales or contracts compared to the same time last year in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties.
 
Most notably, contracts for single family homes in Somerset County increased by a whopping 122.2 percent. Single family home contracts in Wicomico County increased by 18.3 percent and remained flat in Worcester County.
 
Settlements of single family homes and condominiums were down across the board, with the exception of a slight increase in settlements of condominiums in Somerset County.

Coastal REALTORS® kicks off Discount Card Sale to benefit Habitat for Humanity

Berlin, Md. – The Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) is selling discount cards to raise money for the Wicomico and Worcester County chapters of Habitat for Humanity.
 
 
The cards are $10 each and list 15 discounts that are valuable for homeowners. The cards are good through December 31, 2016.
