City of Salisbury announces "Service Week" for property owners

Salisbury, Md. - To provide a saturation of city services to residents in the Princeton Homes and Presidents Area neighborhoods during the week of July 14 through July 18, the City of Salisbury has launched "Service Week."
The program is a collaborative effort involving the Department of Neighborhood Services & Code Compliance, the Salisbury Police Department, the Salisbury Fire Department, the Department of Public Works and the Department of Building Permits & Inspections. During this effort, city departments will educate property owners about property maintenance codes and available city services, and will provide smoke detectors to those in need. The Department of Public Works will be performing street sweeping, tree trimming, water and sewer cleaning and inspections, sewer flushing and weed spraying. Single family home sales up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore

Berlin, Md. – More and more people appear to be planting their roots on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, as June figures from the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) reflect an across-the-board increase in sales of single family homes in Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset counties.
Wicomico and Somerset counties saw the most drastic increase in new sales/contracts, each showing a roughly 66 percent spike compared to June 2013. Worcester County saw a 20 percent increase. Settlements remained steady, apart from Wicomico, which saw a 10 percent decrease compared to June 2013.
The encouraging figures mirror a decrease in the sale prices of single family homes in Worcester and Somerset counties. Despite Wicomico’s uptick in sale prices, all three counties saw REALTORS® selling single family homes for closer to their listing prices.

Coastal Association of REALTORS® appoints new Government and Public Affairs Director

Berlin, Md. – The Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) announced today that Sarah Rayne has joined its staff as the new Government and Public Affairs Director to provide representation of local REALTORS® at government meetings and events in Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset counties.
Rayne comes to CAR with a strong background in journalism, most recently working as a news reporter for The Sussex Countian in Georgetown, Del. She has also worked as a news reporter for The Daily Times in Salisbury and The Wave and Coast Press newspapers in Bethany Beach, Del.
